Impressions:
This is the kind of story that makes you think "Wow, I wish I was that brave." I hope to be that kind of friend to someone someday. The kind of friend that will do anything for the other one. This is one of my all time favorite stories. This is a story of true friendship. A girl risks her life to save her friend and others from being capture by the Nazi's in Denmark. It makes me cry every time.

Reviews:

Grade 3-7. The gripping story of a ten-year-old Danish girl and her family's courageous efforts to smuggle Jews out of their Nazi-occupied homeland to safety in Sweden. Readers are taken to the very heart of Annemarie's experience, and, through her eyes, come to understand the true meaning of bravery.
