Impressions:
I love this book. The first time I heard this book I was about 10 years old? I though oh this poor kid but at the same time found it funny that all these bad things kept happening to him. Now as an adult I truely understand Alexanders frustration because I have had plenty of days like Alexander and reading the story always makes me feel better. I especially like reading this book to my kindergartners. They are at the stage where everything is about them, just like Alexander and I like to explain that everyone has bad days, and what they can do if they are having a bad day. Reviews:
From Publishers Weekly
Objecting loudly to his family's plans to relocate, the hero of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day "makes a gratifying return," said PW. Ages 5-8.

Library Uses
I would use this book to introduce the emotion " anger". This book could also be used to teach sequence of events. This book could also be used to practice critical thinking skills. Ex. After Alexander stepped in gum what could he have done differently to avoid getting angry? What would you do if you stepped in gum?
