Impressions:
I love this book. It shows how imagination can be an escape from the the hard truths of the world. In this case it is a little boy escaping his punishment only to realize that he misses the real world. This story tells what books do for me. They allow me to escape the real world and then return when I am ready.

Reviews:
This Sendak classic is more fun than you've ever had in a wolf suit, and it manages to reaffirm the notion that there's no place like home. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.
Library Uses
I use this book to introduce a creative thinking activity where the students have to make a wild thing mask of their own. What would their wild thing look like. This book can be used to introduce the genre of fantasy.
